All about animation industry and its benefits


It is very important to know about animation industry especially if you are looking a career.
In 2000’s animation industry was dominated only by western countries but now India is also becoming a hub for animation. In India, the animation industry is growing rapidly mainly because of the film industry and gaming industry. NASSCOMNASSCOM, in its survey on animation industry, stated that India is growing at the rate of 35% in the animation field.

What is actually the work of an Animator?

Though many people know what is an animation industry, they would have a doubt that, if they become an animator then what their job will be? Here are details about the different types of animators and their works.

Key Frame Animator – They draw the picture of the beginning and end of a movement.

2 D Animator – Very high volume of separate drawings are created for the animated sequence.

3 D Animator – Compared to all, it is the ultimate form of animation. They put key frames in order to put it live. 3D animation is something that occupied a great place in the animation field.



Digital Ink and Paint Artist –  Paint, and Digital Ink Artist add colour to each and every frame.

Rigging Artist – Designs, Modeled and, textures 3D character or object and set it up with joints.

Rendering Artists –  They combine various things like lighting, animation, models, textures, etc.

Clean Up Artists – They act as assistants to the animator and check issues with the design.

Background Artist – He paints or draws the background of the characters.

Storyboard Artist – He will have great drawing skills as here everything is on paper and not on computers.

Lighting Artist – They create a variation of intensity, shade, and colour.

Image Editor – They combine the audio and visual components of the animation.

Texture Artist – They create a surface for 3 D
modeled character and object.
Layout Artist – They work with  camera angles, lightning and background sketches.

Character Animator – They combine the art of stop-motion animation and traditional animation.
